| Summary, etc. | Reading is essential for social and economic progress. It is, in fact, crucial to many of our society's achievements and this matter belongs to the most common concerns among educators these days, particularly in the midst of COVID-19 pandernic, young individuals have different learning styles, which affect their ability and attention to cope up easily to their courses. As a result, the purpose of this study was to ascertain the status of the "Journey to CORIE" reading program in post-pandemic education in terms of the learners' reading profiles based on their abilities in understanding sOunds, syllables, words, phrases, and sentences, the challenges encountered during implementation. This study focused on grade 1 pupils' reading proficiency and in order to gather information and achieve its objectives, the researcher employed a descriptive mixed method research design. The quantitative method was used to assess the students' reading level. The qualitative data was used to assess the challenges encountered during the implementation of the reading program as well as the prospects perceived in the reading program. The researcher eventually discovered that the majority of the students in Silang's Cluster 3 were non-readers. When the CORIE Reading program and intervention were implemented, it appeared that children could read with the guide of their parents and teachers, using the appropriate reading resources provided. All participating schools had similar reading proficiency, indicating that regardless of which school a student attended, their reading level was the same. This demonstrated how effectively the curriculum aids children in improving their reading skills. As a result, the researcher presented a continuous improvement plan for the betterment of the aforementioned reading program. |
