| Summary, etc. | In an era propelled by technology, the Internet has firmly established its role as a predominant source of health information, where a vast majority utilize information for their health-related needs (Vega et al., 2023). Accordingly, the Internet has emerged as a force in allowing individuals to be in charge of their health. Given the extensive health information found online, the study addresses the aspects of using online health information, particularly the factors influencing its utilization and the subsequent decision-making about health-related choices. Additionally, it was analyzed whether there is a relationship between the specified demographics and factors influencing online health information-seeking and decision-making, as well as the connections between information-seeking and decision-making factors. Hence, the study used a quantitative design to collect data on trends in the target population regarding the prevalent phenomenon of utilizing online health information. The study surveyed 190 respondents in San Isidro, Paranaque City. Through criterion sampling, the respondents were individuals aged 19-40, with educational attainment ranging from high school to postgraduate, encompassing both employed and unemployed individuals, including both sexes, and an illness of Diabetes. Based on the findings, the respondents showed a positive response towards the factors influencing the utilization of online health information. These encompass accessibility, finances, physical and mental health, self-diagnosis, and anonymity. Moreover, they also exhibited agreement with factors influencing health decision-making post-information use, including credibility of information, personal relevance, and emotional impact. Additionally, there is a significant association between demographic characteristics and the factors influencing the search for online health information and decision-making, as determined by Pearson{92}s correlation. This emphasizes the necessity for accurate and reliable information, enabling individuals to make judgements beneficial for their health. Therefore, an infomercial was created as a guide for utilizing online health information. |
