The qualitative nature of this study revealed insights into the specific challenges that arise during communication between radiologic technologists and Alzheimer{92}s patients. This paper focused on a qualitative method used to examine communication challenges faced by radiologic technologists when caring for elderly patients diagnosed with AD in selected hospitals in Paranaque City, Philippines. The qualitative nature of this study revealed insights into the specific challenges that arise during communication between radiologic technologists and Alzheimer{92}s patients. The study used convenience sampling to select respondents through a validated interview questionnaire. Six radiologic technologists were interviewed to understand the several challenges in communications and their strategies when interacting with elderly patients diagnosed with AD. Methods used included audio recording and observation notes during the interviews to establish consistency with the subject of this research. Analysis of the data revealed interesting themes regarding the communication difficulties including language differences, establishing trust, and the impact of cognitive impairment on understanding and following instructions. The implications for this study suggests that medical professionals can address patients{92} difficulties with communication through the application of a variety of strategies, including body language, facial expressions, and imaging procedure demonstrations. The study included that radiologic technologists who have employed strategies to address communication difficulties when handling patients with AD would likely emphasize the importance of empathy, patience, and specialized communication techniques in providing effective care. It would highlight the significance of understanding the unique challenges faced by Alzheimer{92}s patients and the necessity of adapting communication methods to suit their needs. The recommendation included implementing the specific needs of these patients, such strategies may include using simple language, nonverbal communication gestures, patience, and empathy. Radiologic technologists play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of patients with AD while maintaining the quality of diagnostic imaging services.
