| Summary, etc. | The research aimed to determine the LGBTQ couples' psychosocial experiences. As same-sex couples usually experience a unique form of social stress associated with these individuals belonging to the sexual minority group (LeBlanc, 2015). These types of stigmas exhibit psychosocial stress among LGBT couples. The current study is similar to the study made by Ilan H. Meyer's Minority Stress Model (2009), which asserts that minority stress processes in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities {97} are based on factors linked with diverse stressors and their positive or negative impact on mental health outcomes. Data is gathered by distributing the LGBT Minority Stress Measure questionnaire to the chosen 8 participants. The data were collected from the population of LGBTQ in Metro Manila to analyze the psychosocial stressors they experienced in their relationship. The following conclusions drawn from lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Couples' Psychosocial Experiences are the following: (1) the families ofthe LGBTQ Couples did not comfortably accept their children's relationship at first. (2) LGBTQ Couples have become wary oftheir surroundings and situations to avoid discrimination from the public. (3) LGBTQ Couples choose places where they can comfortably show affection to each other. (4) LGBTQ Couples' attitudes and resilience show how they handle conflicts when faced with discrimination or adversity. The results of this study cannot be generalized to other LGBTQ couples. The same study needs to be conducted on other LGBTQ couples to see if there are any similarities with the significance of the stressors to the length of the relationship of LGBTQ couples and also to see if there are any similarities with the significant stressors LGBTQ couples experience. |
