520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. This study utilized a quasi- experimental research design to examine the effectiveness of English learning applications namely Duolingo,Quizizz, and Quizlet in enhancing the writing skills of Grade 11 STEM students at Olivarez College. The quasi-experimental approach was appropriate for this research as it involved the manipulation of the independent variables (the use of learning applications) without the random assignment of participants into control and experimental groups. Data were collected using both quantitative and qualitative methods, thereby employing a mixed-method approach. Quantitative data were gathered through a researcher-made 30-item test questionnaire administered as both a pretest and posttest. These tests aimed to measure the students{92} performance before and after the integration of the English learning application into their writing lessons. The scores from these assessments provided statistical evidence of any improvement in writing proficiency resulting from the intervention. To complement the quantitative data, qualitative data were collected through survey, interview and classroom observation. The survey and interview guided questions were administered to the experimental group, allowing the research to gain insight into students{92} perception, engagement, and experiences with the English learning application. Two English teachers also observed the implementation of the intervention, evaluating the effectiveness of the activities and strategies in improving writing skills. These qualitative responses were analyzed using thematic analysis allowing the researchers to explore recurring themes and deeper insight beyond numerical scores. This combination of data sources helped provide a more comprehensive understanding of how digital applications can support writing development in an academic setting.
