| Summary, etc. | The study sought to explore the lived experiences of board licensure examination passers on exercising different Filipino superstitious beliefs, how they describe these beliefs, and how cultural beliefs influence behaviors toward the achievement of professional success. This qualitative study employed a phenomenological research design to delve into the experiences and perspective of Filipinos. The study utilized purposive sampling to identify qualified individuals and the snowball sampling method to gather other co-researchers. Using the validated researcher-made questionnaire, the researchers conducted semi-structured interviews with ten (10) individuals who graduated from Olivarez College- Paranaque, holding the professional title of licensed professional teacher (LPT) , Registered Criminologist (RCrim), and Registered Nurse (RN). After analyzing their rich experiences, the key themes that emerged are the following: ( a) integrating cultural heritage of Filipinos, (b) influence of Filipino superstitious beliefs on passing the board licensure examination, and (c) the essence of manifestation. In conclusion, the study revealed that Filipinos superstitious beliefs play a role in influencing one{92}s mindset, behaviors, and preparedness in taking the board licensure examination. Moreover, these beliefs are molded by an individual{92}s cultural background and shared with others through experiences and social conformity. Although these superstitious beliefs truly boost their self-efficacy, there is a disadvantage when one solely reliefs on beliefs and underestimate the importance of reviewing. Recommendations of the study highlight using Filipino superstitious beliefs as a coping strategy, exploring beliefs in various regions, studying Filipino attitudes, contributing to Filipino Psychology, and exploring the long-term impacts of cultural beliefs on professional success. |
