Summary, etc. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is an popular online database of library resources held by one or group of libraries. It is the effective and robust tool for searching information in the libraries. The research paper deals with the pro-active awareness and library orientation/ training to educate library users on the utilization OPAC service in digital environment. Descriptive survey design was adopted. Four hundred closed questionnaires randomly distributed among library users of BhagatPhool Singh MahilaVishwavidyalaya (BPSMV) and DeenbandhuChhotu Ram University of Science and Technology(DCRUST) for data collection. Three seventy one total questionnaires were retrieved from both the university libraries which represent 92.75% of responses. Frequency count and percentage were used to analyze the data gathered from respondents. The study revealed that out of 371 respondents 97.84% respondents were aware of OPAC services and 96.23% were practically use OPAC service to locate materials in the library. Among the respondents 91.6% found OPAC as user-friendly and quick searching tool, however, around 52%of respondents faced problems because of lack of proper Training/ Orientation Programme of OPAC. More than 65% of respondents either satisfied or fully satisfied with the OPAC services. Further added, around 82.63% of respondents were strongly agree on training/ library orientation programme for better utilization of OPAC service. This paper gives authentic data collected from library users regarding their understanding and experience while using OPAC.
