520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The researchers used descriptive method which is the most appropriate way to test the hypothesis since there is no manipulation needed to obtain data from the respondents. The researchers made used of descriptive research design which is a form of educational survey which attempts to collect detailed politic information and description of existing condition and practices. This study aims to evaluate the utilization of therapeutic communication patterns towards patient in selected hospitals. Specifically, the study sought to answer the following questions: What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of 1.1 age 1.2 gender. What are the therapeutic communication techniques by nurses 2.1 non verbal communication (Eye Contact) 2.2 Directing 2.3 seeking clarification 2.4 Broad openings 2.5 Theme identification 2.6 suggesting collaboration 2.7 accepting message 2.8 providing general leads 2.9 exploring 2.10 informing 2.11 seeking for consensual validation 2.12 focusing? What are the common communication barriers as perceived by the patient? Communication is the foundation of interpersonal and is a key in the nursing process. It is also defined as the process that people used to exchange information with transmitting message and interpreting meaning. Effective communications analyze their own communication in terms of behavioral affective and cognitive messages in the offer of information. However with therapeutic communication the sender or the nurse seek to elicit a response from the receiver the patient that is beneficial to his mental and physical health. To analyze this you must consider spoken words, thinking process, emotions and culture. The use of therapeutic communication technique does not automatically guarantee therapeutic communication and, because of the many factors involved in human relationships, it is not possible to state that any particular skill, method or pattern of application guarantees success. There are times when, for various reasons, a person cannot assimilate what is being said. This will often be displayed by person not acknowledging or remembering the information given. Most important in such circumstances is for the nurse not to be deterred. According to the results, the most utilized therapeutic communication pattern is accepting message with an average weighted mean of 3.76. This conveys that nurses are capable of understanding how the patient feel and see their situations which are a vital component of effective nurse- patient relationship. The results showed that the majority of the respondents in terms of age belong to young adult (20-40 years old) with an average of 53%. Age plays a important role in this study because it determines how far a respondents can comprehend with the said study specially in answering the questionnaires; Which shows that we come up with a more reliable data because of young adults have greater cognitive analysis which involves greater comprehension as well as thinking process. Gender is also significant in the study which signifies the majority of the respondents and based from the data we gathered, female has the greater number than the male. And because female are much concerned with the attitude of the nurse and greatly concerns towards how they communicate with each other.
