Dissertation note: Undergraduate thesis. Summary: The use of e-cigarettes among young people is one of the major public health problems in the Philippines. This research aimed to compare the prevalence of lung disease symptoms among e-cigarette users, smokers and non smokers. A mixed method study designed was performed. The survey questions examined basic demographics, and health history and duration of respiratory disease symptoms. The One Way Anova and Tukey test results confirmed that the e-cigarette users covered in the study have experienced illness symptoms caused by the use of e-cigarettes. And by the use of thematic analysis researchers gathered in depth information about the history of the respondents. Furthermore, this study examined and showed a comparison of the effects of e-cigarette and traditional tobacco smoke between smoker and nonsmoker. The researchers recommend infomercials in social media to raise awareness of the health risks and possible long-term effects of the use of e-cigarettes.
