Undergraduate thesis.
It is difficult to imagine parents disowning their child, but it happens more often than we realize. For further understanding of the lived experiences of the adopted children, the researcher undertakes research which will increase knowledge and understanding of the effect of adoption to those involved and to further understand the inner feelings of the adopted children. With the phenomenological approach used, the researchers were able to distinguish the inner feelings and experiences of adopted children. The research focuses on their feelings towards the whole journey of being an adopted children, it also includes classification to further understand the study feelings before and after knowing about the adoption. Qualitative approach will be used in this study. This is to further understand, analyze and discover new information regarding the study. Using this approach, the researchers will have the freedom of collecting the data depending on them, with the limit and guidance of the formats given. The researchers will use phenomenological research. This is to further examine and understand each abandoned children{92}s lived experiences both past and present and how the respondents accept everything about their life. Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions: CENTRAL QUESTION What are the lived experiences of adopted children to their life journey? COROLLARY QUESTIONS 1. How do they describe their experiences along their journey of being an adopted child? 2. What themes emerged as a result based from their testimonies? 3. Based on the findings of the study what info graphic materials can be proposed? Descriptive approach was used by the researcher to further support the findings of the central questions. The corollary questions is to understand what were the experiences of the adopted children their inner feelings towards the situation. How the respondents described their experiences along their journey with their adoptive parents and also towards their past life where the biological parents was involved. This also involved how the respondents see themselves presently as an adopted child and how their lives continued as a new individual and as an adopted child. This also showed and discussed the themes that may emerged in the study, and lastly the output that can be used to target the people{92}s attention and awareness about the life journey of an adopted children. The Adopted Children{92} Background Information All of the respondents have their similarities and differences. The respondents have the same feelings and perception in life. The Loyal kid is 17 years old raised by her adoptive parents since she was a baby. As she grew up, she noticed the things around her, like the difference between her adoptive parents. The Maid in heaven is 18 years old and she knew that she was adopted when she was 14 years old, when her adoptive parents told her. After that incident, she tried looking for her real parents, ran away and left the house. The Independent child is a 14 years old he was adopted at the age of 6. He stayed at the US for almost 2 years, because his adoptive father is an American. His adoptive mother is also the sister of his real mother, and he thought that the reason of the adoption is because his adoptive parents can{92}t bear a child. The Positive Guy is 17 years old, he felt lonely because he is adopted and even his adoptive parents are away from him. But he didn{92}t see himself going back to the arms of his biological parents. Because even if they are looking for him, the fact that they still left him, made him not want to go back to them. The technique used was Purposive Sampling to choose therespondents that corresponds to the study; it includes the 2 boy 2 Girls ages 10-25 and must be an adopted child. Findings Based from the respondents, there is a huge difference with their life after knowing about the adoption. Adopted children felt the pain and a lot of questions came in to their mind. Children also wanted to seek more information or truth about themselves and their life with their biologicaln parents. But, their adoptive parents never let them feel that they are adopted. The life of the adopted children was quite hard but it was never been the reason to give up about life and family, their situation is unusual and people laugh, judge and sometimes don{92}t respect but still it{92}s not a hindrance to have a normal life. Accepting the fact is not easy but every experience that the adopted children faces will gave a lot of reason to accept the situation. Being away with the biological parents is one of the painful things that could ever happen to a child, but because there are people who will still love and accept like the adoptive parents children can go through life. The respondents agree with the saying {93}past is past{94} it doesn{92}t mean that the past will be forgotten but rather it shouldn{92}t be affecting the present. The journey of the adopted children is a very long process, there will be chances of falling but will always stand tall and continue, whether it{92}s a win or lose, acceptance will always be there. Thematic Chart Result For the success of the research, the researcher used the themes that emerged the study to have an accurate data. It forms 2 thematic charts, that answers the corollary questions and also to have a strong data in providing the conclusion. The 2 thematic charts are: Children{92}s Feeling About Adoption, and Journey of the Adopted Children. In Children{92}s Feeling about Adoption, the themes that emerged where Parents Incapable of Providing, it{92}s a good thing to be Adopted, treated like their own, Mixed Emotions, Need to know the Past, Past is Past, The Acceptance. The First thing that emerged was Parents Incapable of Providing this is one of the main reason in child{92}s abandonment, mostly parents tend to left their child is that because parents wants what{92}s best to their child. It{92}s not because there is no love or afraid of the responsibilities but most of the time it is because of financial difficulties that parents decided to give up their child, and let others take care of them. In the case of Journey of the Adopted Children, an adopted child has their own set of testimonies about their life, and the themes aroused after knowing the adoption are Life Changes, and The Acceptance. Accepting things and situation that are painful is really hard, and it{92}s truly the hardest for the respondents not living with the real parents, and with the real family. Questions will really arise, life will become different, and there will time that the adopted children wants to seek for the truth. Being adopted child is hard, there will be a lot of things to experience but as for the respondents even it{92}s tough there will really a time that accepting the situation is the solution. Accepting things that is hard to understand will gave people a peace of mind and a happy heart, all of the things that are hard is just in the beginning you will learn a lot at the end and that{92}s the time that realizing things is also accepting it. Conclusion Everything has its reason, things that is hard to understand, question that doesn{92}t have answer, problems without knowing its solution. Life is really confusing, there will always be a tough time, but will always have a warm and easy days. The way people accept the things that may happened to life really depends with their choice. For the adopted children, their life is really different and a very long process. Adopted children experienced pain for knowing that they{92}re an adopted children, confusion because there will be a lot of questions and want to know the truth about their self. The feeling that there is something lacking was felt, life was full of doubt and insecurities even though adoptive parents gave the love and care the children needed. This study explored all the aspect of the adopted children, and after all the data gathered and analyzed, the researchers concluded that most of the adopted children went through a lot of experiences, Children have felt pain, insecure, confused and at the same time happy after the time of the acceptance.
It really needs a long process before accepting things especially in the case of the adopted children, their life journey is really a long process but it doesn{92}t mean that the adopted children are different. People are all the same it{92}s just the situation that is different from each other, and how people accept thing that is happening in life. Recommendation The Adopted Children. Things will become more understandable, that they are not different even they{92}re an adopted child. Things will be easy for them especially accepting their situation. Adoptive Parents.
