Undergraduate Thesis

The study has used a quantitative research which focuses in a group of, students taking BSHRM. Thirty (30) senior Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant, Management students in Olivarez College were involved in this study conducted, during the first semester of school year 2009-2010. Percentage and Weighted mean were employed as the statistical formulas, in order to present and interpret the data gathered. Based on the survey conducted, most of the respondents are 19-25 years, old with the percentage of 63.33%. Most of the gender of our respondents is both, male and female. And they strongly agreed upon on the factors affecting HRM program. Findings Based on the data collected, the following important findings were exposed and revealed in this study: 1. Impact of Culture Based on the research we have found out the impact which the respondents are really affected with under culture. Our respondents are learn to cook other foreign dishes which has the weighted mean of 3.57, next was they learn how to accommodate others perspective in cooking, different ways in cooking and handling functions with same weighted mean of 3.53 and they have learn how to respect other people's race with the weighted mean of 3.40. 2. Impact of Economy As the respondents react under the economic impact, we have found out that the respondents believed that taking BSHRM will enable them to work abroad wit the weighted mean of 3.63, and that working in an hospitality establishment is a great opportunity and they can compete with other business with the same weighted mean of 3.57, and with third highest rated the respondents response was that the respondents plan to develop a new product and that they perceive that BSHRM has a lot of field opportunities. 3. Impact of Environment On our research under environmental impact the respondents have perceived that there is an economic growth due to BSHRM with the weighted mean of 3.60, they also respond on the way that taking BSHRM help them to, gain self-confidence with the mean of 3.57 and the respondents can easily, interact with other people and they perceive that managing a business is a great, investment with the same weighted mean of 3.53. Conclusions Based on the foregoing findings the following conclusions were drawn: 1. Most of the respondents are both male and female, and most of the, respondent's age is 19-20 years old. 2. The respondents strongly agreed upon the impacts of culture, economy, and environment on hotel and restaurant management program. 3. There a significant difference on the perceptions of the respondents as, regards the factors affecting hotel and restaurant management program. Recommendations Based on the foregoing conclusion the following recommendations were, drawn: 1.The school should provide quality education under hotel and restaurant, management. 2.The school and the government should promote hotel and restaurant, management for there will be a progress in terms of educating students. 3. The students should be educated properly for they can adopt the changes. 4. The school will enable to use this study for it is conducted on Olivarez College.
