Undergraduate Thesis
The purpose of this study is to give useful information in saving valuable time of students and lecturers, paper and generating report at required time. This system it can reduces and minimizes human errors, avoids proxy punching, eliminates time-related disputes and helps to update and maintain attendance records. This is why the researchers proposed the design and development of a display system. This experimental prototype is meant for use by individuals, which can verify the students in a very convenient manner using their fingerprint to prevent impersonation and reduce level of absence. i.Statement of purpose The purpose of this study was to design and develop a working prototype for Development of a Portable Biometrics-Based Attendance Management System. Specifically has a following objectives: 1. Design a system based on attendance recordkeeping. 2. Develop a Portable Biometrics Management System as a output of the study. To test the developed system. 3. 4. To evaluate the developed system ii. Methodology The methodology used in this study was exploratory design, which intends merely to explore the research questions and does not intend to offer final and conclusive solutions to existing problems. Conducted in order to determine the student and teacher problem, this type of research does not provide conclusive evidence, but helps us to have a better understanding of the problem. When conducting exploratory research, the researcher ought to be willing to change his/her direction because of revelation of new data and new insights iii. Conclusion The researchers were able to build a working prototype for this system, and able to meet the system design with the useful feature to the users. iv. Recommendation Reviewing the system requirements, the researchers recommend that the future researchers looking forward for the improvement of the data storing and stability of the network connection, especially the wifi shield that connects the microcontroller to the network.
