Dissertation note: Master Thesis Summary: This study endeavored to benchmark career guidance programs, practices and impact in selected technical-vocational institutes while identifying the need as a strong ground for proposing such program in the context of Las Pinas City Manpower Training Center (LPCMTC). This study utilized sequential mixed method using survey questionnaire in generating quantitative data while interview for the qualitative transcripts among guidance personnel and staff from selected training centers and trainers and staff from LPCMTC, respectively. Quantitative data were treated using frequency, percentage and mean, while coding, transcription, extracting and analysis process for the qualitative data. Result showed that the benchmarked institutes implement orientation, testing, career and job search, and placement services to prepare trainees for employment opportunities. Hence, it attests that this program brings about positive impact on the latter's academic, personal, social and career development. Therefore, there is a felt need for such program to sustain its operational standards although, there are mixed opinions and emotions with this initiative due to financial aspect considering that it is a government institute. As such, a career guidance program intended for LPCMTC was developed and thereby proposed.
