Master Thesis The study intended to analyze the effectiveness of Manila Police District Sta. Cruz Police Station in Maintaining Peace and Order within its Jurisdiction by assessing the level of effectiveness of Sta. Cruz Police Station in maintaining Peace and Order and Crime Prevention within its jurisdiction as assessed by the three groups of respondents in terms of Department Capability and improve productivity and problems encountered by the respondents in maintaining peace and order. To capture data, produce information and achieve its purposes, the researcher utilized the quantitative descriptive method through a self-assessment survey disseminated to 106 respondents comprised the police officers, the barangay officers/personnel and the residents of the respective barangays situated under the jurisdiction of Plaza Miranda Police Community Precinct. Results showed that majority of the respondents have been classified at the range of56 years old and, mostly female, have been in the service for 11- 15 years, most of them are single and with regard to their highest educational attainment, majority of them are High School Graduates and the Level of Effectiveness of Sta. Cruz Police Station in maintaining peace and order within its jurisdiction are all "highly effective" in terms of Department Capability, System and Procedure, and Public / Private Participation or Support. Further, the difference in the assessments of the three groups of respondents on the level of effectiveness of Sta. Cruz Police Station in maintaining Peace and Order within its jurisdiction in terms of Department Capability, System and Procedure, and Public / Private Participation or Support is "Significant." Lastly, the problems encountered by the respondents in maintaining peace and order are {93}Less Serious." Through this, action plan are being proposed to enhance the level of effectiveness of Manila Police District, Santa Cruz Police Station in maintaining peace and order within its jurisdiction. This study contributes to the peace and order in Sta. Cruz, Manila through the implementation of an action plan and the continuous effort and collaboration of both law enforcement authorities and the community in the maintenance of peace and order within its jurisdictions.
