Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches provide some of the most substantial empirical evidence for the treatment of drug and alcohol use disorders. As for the psychology of addictive behaviors, the CBT evolution for addictions was reviewed through the lens of the stage model of behavioral therapy development. Many studies were published in the psychology of addictive disorders, making cognitive behavioral therapies one of the most well-researched ways to treat addictive disorders. Currently, well-controlled trials have provided some of the most empirical support for cognitive behavioral techniques, commonly regarded as evidence-based approaches. One of the distinguishing features that sets CBT apart from other treatments is its relative durability of effects that last on patients. In some situations, people continue to recover even after treatment is over. It has also been shown to be effective in combination with pharmacotherapies for substance use. It has been a widely used platform for pharmacotherapy trials, or the ‘base’ treatment given to all participants to improve treatment retention and drug adherence and address other ancillary problems. Hence, this qualitative research study was conducted to determine the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy on juvenile drug dependence. The data included in the study came from various sources, including reviews of related literature, books, journals, and websites on the internet, all of which were utilized to support the study’s claims. A survey questionnaire was used to gather relevant information from the chosen respondents to determine their knowledge about the efficacy of the cognitive behavioral approach to a juvenile drug dependent. Moreover, findings also revealed that their progress and the efficacy of the treatment were based on how they cooperated and was based on their behavior, and the most common treatment that was being given to the patient was the cognitive behavioral therapies along with the other approaches like psychological, humanistic and pharmacologic approaches.
