The purpose of this study is to identify the bacteria contaminating the shoe covers used inside the operating room personnel in relation to the duration of surgery, and to determine if there is a significant difference in the bacterial contamination of shoe covers in different surgeries with respect to time. The study was conducted using an experimental research design in which the researchers established a cause-and-effect relationship between the shoe cover obtained from the participants and potential effects of bacterial contamination on the surgeries done in the operating room. The head of the operating room chose eleven participants based on the scheduled operations, and they were given new shoe covers to wear throughout the surgery to be collected and transferred to the laboratory for microbiological collection and identification. aQuantitative experimental research. aCollection of shoe cover. aBacterial identification. aBacterial contamination. aAyala, Angela Victorina Rosemalyn T. aBoni, Jonnalyn S. aParada, Joanna Paula A. aSupat, Krisha Mae S. aVelasquez, Joseph Martty N.
