The purpose ofthis mixed methods study was to uncover distinct themes of meaning making (sense making and benefit finding) among bereaved family members, as well as analyze relationships between these themes and bereavement severity. Given the necessity of adhering to health protocols, the experience ofloss and the grieving process have shifted in nature during this disease. As a result, the goal ofthis research is to get a deeper knowledge of grief during the COVID-19 pandemic by looking into the experiences of bereaved family members. Due to the inability to hold traditional mourning ceremonies and obtain the social support needed during this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the families of the deceased face a variety of challenges that disturb the grieving process and may contribute to the development of unresolved sadness in the future. The number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in the country continues to rise. Health and safety guidelines not only kept families away from the dying person but also from the body of the deceased. Indeed, during the peak of the pandemic, relatives were forbidden access to the body: body bags were closed once and for all in the ICU. Many families described a dehumanizing experience associated with feelings of anger and injustice. Based on the record ofthe Department of Health, males are commonly infected by the virus at 55% than females which is at 45%. The huge impact of this outbreak and the comprehensive efforts of the government together with the other stakeholders to respond to its effects, it is imperative to consider the following assumptions and risks across every human development sphere at all phases {97} during Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), lifting of the ECQ and post-COVID-19 situation.
