Undergraduate Thesis One's mental health serves as a great factor to properly function and continuously push through with our daily routines and lives, to meet with such mental problems can lead to amounts of stress, especially when under a pandemic. Since nurses face different kinds of stress on a daily, the prevalence and prolonging of the COVID-19 pandemic have surely and greatly affected not just nurses but health workers in general. This study used a quantitative- complementary, descriptive-comparative approach and had a quota of 115 respondents using the quota sampling technique. A particular qualitative method may be included at the start of a study as formative research to identify the characteristics and behaviors of target populations. Qualitative approaches can also be integrated at the end of the study to explain quantitative results. Both qualitative and quantitative data may be collected at multiple time points. This research aims to assess the types and levels of stress experienced, existing and added stressors, applied coping mechanisms, and if there would be significant relationships and differences in selected demographic profiles of competent and expert nurses in both private and public hospitals in Parañaque City to lean towards crafting of health programs. The findings revealed that out of the 115 respondents, the mental state was the most affected aspect among private and public nurses. It showed that there were no significant differences between the mental state, behavioral and emotional state, physical state, and stressors from selected demographic profiles (gender, professional category, and area of assignment) while there were significant differences in the coping mechanisms. Results also showed that several aspects of the mental state, behavioral and emotional state, physical state, stressors, and coping mechanisms have relationships with the selected demographic profiles. Furthermore, this study's findings aim to improve and encourage better services that cater to a nurse's overall state and evolve a mental health seminar output suitable for nurses. Mental health.
