<subfield code="a">With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, social media has quickly evolved into a widely used tool for communication, entertainment, and a source of information, and teenagers may have or experience the negative impact of social media more easily because social connectivity is important for their development. This study aims to determine the influence of excessive social media use on teenagers' mental health during this COVID-19 pandemic. The APA writing style was chosen by the researchers for the reason being that it is comprised of comprehensive guidelines that are used in writing academic papers. It also encourages professional writing and communication while including crucial information that is relevant to the study that needs to be kept updated on a regular basis. The APA citation fundamentals also assisted the researchers to avoid plagiarism suspicions and accusations. The purpose of this study was to determine how the overuse of social media affects teens at Olivarez College in Parañaque City by conducting and evaluating their demographic profile, mental health state, and level of exposure using a questionnaire as a data collection tool, and to identify common problems among respondents. The findings revealed that respondents experienced anxious feelings, sleep problems, poor self-esteem, being jealous of other people's lifestyles and difficulty concentrating on many more important matters, such as schoolwork and household chores. Respondents also stated that they are having difficulty opening up to their parents about this issue. Furthermore, the study's findings aim to improve current programs aimed at improving teenagers' mental health, as well as our responsibilities as future nurses in society as health role models, health advocates, and health educators in order to achieve a healthy mental well-being.</subfield>
