The country's educational system from the Spanish time to the present has undergone series of notable curricular and structural changes and development to make it relevant and responsive to needs of the society it From its religion-oriented nature and 3R's focused curriculum to be relevant to the Spanish Colonizers' major policies for more than three centuries it metamorphosed to democratic-oriented and a crowded curriculum under the American rule for almost five decades. Our educational system, in particular, is greatly influenced as shown by series of major curricular innovations, enrichments, and redirections to be functional and to improve the quality of its outputs not only to meet local needs, standard and requirements but international as well.
