Master Thesis The study attempted to evaluate the work values and managerial competencies of the public elementary school principals in Parañaque District I, Parañaque Division during the school year 2002-2003. Specifically, it sought answers to the following questions: 1. What is the profile of the public elementary school principals in Parañaque District I relative to age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment, number of hours of training in school administration/management, and number of years of experience as school principal. 2. What is the level of work values and managerial competencies of the public elementary school principals as perceived by their teachers? 3. How do the public elementary school principals compare on their level of work values and managerial competencies as to the aforecited variables? 4. Is there a significant difference in the mean ratings of the public elementary school principals on their work values and managerial competencies in each of the variables? 5. Is there a significant relationship between the work values and managerial competencies ratings of the public elementary school principals? 6. What urgent implications can be drawn from the findings of this study? The study involved 234 public elementary school teachers from the seven public elementary schools in Parañaque I who rated their respective school principals on their work values and managerial competencies. The descriptive method of research was employed. A questionnaire/checklist was used to gather relevant data on the work values and managerial competencies of the school principals. The following statistical procedures/techniques were used: the frequency count, percentage, arithmetic mean, the t-test significance, and the Pearson r Product Moment Correlation Coefficient.
