The data gathered were tabulated and computed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square test of independence, and Pearson Product Moment Coefficient of Correlation. Findings showed that students were on the average age of entry to college imbued by gender parity, however, they lacked competencies in their high school mathematics. As a result, they were low in comprehension skill that led to their poor computational ability as found to have correlation. Hence, age and gender had established no relationship with students' comprehension and computational skills at all unlike their high school mathematics performance. Therefore, it was recommended to revitalize diagnostic assessment among incoming freshmen and come up with refresher or bridging courses as requisite to college math. More so, interdisciplinary approach with English and Math focus imbued by critical thinking is imperative and so as revisiting the existing curriculum for math along intended competencies. Thus, there is a need for relevant supplementary materials to enhance such skills.
