It was the major purpose of this study to determine the reading competence of freshmen students of Pasay City North High School for School Year 2000-2001. Specifically, the study attempted to answer the following questions: 1. How did the freshmen students score in the reading test? 2. In what aspects of reading skills were the students found weak. 3. What is the level of the students' reading performance? 4. Is there significant relationship in the performance of the respondents in terms of: You sent a. sex b. age, and c. academic achievement?.
