The COVID-19 outbreak quickly spread and was declared a global pandemic. This has challenged the nursing practice in terms of performing their best. Conducted in Parañaque City, this quantitative study aims to find; (1) What is the social stigma experienced by the nurses at selected hospitals in Parañaque City? (2) How does the pandemic affect the work performance of nurses at selected hospitals in Parañaque City? (3) Is there a correlation between the experienced social stigma and the work performance of the nurses at selected hospitals in Parañaque City? (4) Based on the findings, what intervention or material can be designed to help the nurses cope with the social stigma brought about by the pandemic? Using a survey questionnaire validated with Cronbach's alpha, followed by a pilot study to be carried out, with ten respondents from selected hospitals in Parañaque City through the convenience sampling technique. The data gathered through snowball sampling techniques received results that depicted a significant positive correlation between stigma to the work performance of nurses. Therefore, as stigma levels rise, so as the downtrend of excellent work performance of nurses. The researchers would like to propose workplace policies that address coping strategies for stigma and ways to help nurses manage the effects of stigma in their workplace and personal lives.
