520 _aThe purpose of the study conducted was to understand the teachers' attitudes, the hindrances and obstacles associated with male elementary graders manifesting signs of homosexuality, and the professional training needs of teachers. The intention of the present study is to explore, uncover, and understand more clearly the attitudes teachers have about incorporating male elementary graders manifesting signs of homosexuality in the classroom. The focus of the exploration, in addition to investigating teachers' attitudes, comprised teachers' professional needs and the obstacles teachers perceived were associated with the implementation of gay-themed children's literature as of a balanced multicultural education curriculum in the elementary classroom. The objective of the research was to focus on teachers' view about male elementary graders manifesting signs of homosexuality, the hindrances that teachers perceive exist, and teachers' professional development needs with respect to implementing anti-discrimination in the classroom.
