As a result each member gains recognition, sense of belonging in a family and an ability to feel needed and wanted by the club. One of the most controversial legacies left to the modern fraternity or sorority by past generations is the tradition of physical, psychological, or emotional testing of its potential members as a rite of passage to full membership. Here in the Philippines, Fraternity refers to a 'Gang o Gangster', but not all. They call that such name because of their violent crime done. Hazing has always been seen as a secretive campus activity when it comes to fraternities and pledging. Indeed joining a fraternity or sorority is not an easy one. In fact it is very difficult physically and psychologically. Each organization has its own recruitment and initiation procedure which consists of group and individual activities. Fraternities and Sororities provide a network of support for college students. Social opportunities are a common reason of students for joining. Fraternities are built on brotherhood and social contact. Social congruence makes students feel more at ease in the collegiate environment. However, Olivarez College had created a sanctions and policy to protect the students in any harm such as physical and emotional suffering wherein some unauthorized organizations are conducting by means of hazing and initiation. The researchers, aims to assess the awareness of criminology students in joining unrecognized fraternities and sororities. Survey Questionnaire was distributed to all respondents. The analysis demonstrated that the respondents perspective on the level of awareness of Criminology students in terms of sanctions, initiation rites, hazing and liabilities got Aware. The results indicate that the Schools Policy as well as the R.A 11053 have an impact on the student. With this, it is recommended that fraternity and sorority awareness must be discussed and implemented through action plan.
