520 _aThe aim of this study was to assess the parents’ knowledge on the effects of Ultra-Processed Foods on School-Age Children: Grade 1 to 3. The study involved 57 parents and 76 students from Grade 1 to 3, thus having a total of 133 respondents. The study utilized the descriptive, quantitative method of research, and data was gathered through survey questionnaires which are answered by the parents and measurement of the child’s height, weight, and waist circumference. Data gathered were treated using statistical formulas such as Frequency Count and Percentage Distribution, Weighted Mean, Chi-Square Ranking. The findings reveal that there is no significant correlation between the parent’s knowledge of the effects of the consumption of Ultra-Processed Foods (UPF) and their child’s health (x²=0.57). Nonetheless, the researchers had identified factors on the parents’ continued purchase of this type of food to which scarcity of time was prominent to be the leading factor (Weighted Mean= 3.33). In order to supplement the parents’ knowledge on Ultra-processed foods, the researchers concluded that a health teaching and seminar focusing on Ultra-processed foods and its effects on health was to be conducted. This will be done as a means to reduce the amount of consumption of UPF’s amongst children not only in their households but also in their schools.
