520 _aTrigger fingers have become prevalent in the general population which could lead to an individual’s ability to carry out daily tasks including writing, typing, holding things, and even simple hand movements being severely hampered by this illness. This research study explored the relationship between the age and length of experience of Filipino midwives and their level of awareness and frequency towards the factors affecting the trigger fingers. Moreover, it also aimed to gather quantitative knowledge about the said condition. Present demographics, risk factors, and recommended management formed a conceptual theory. Through quantitative research, the proponents conducted a survey among the respondents, specifically midwives (N-100). A survey questionnaire was disseminated through snowball sampling from the chosen three cities of Metro Manila namely Paranaque City, Muntinlupa City, and City of Manila. The data collected were analyzed and showed that 27% of the respondents were aged 46 to 50 and 48% of them worked as midwives for more than 15 years. It was also revealed that the respondents were very aware of the said factors, yielding high positive aggregate scores. In addition, the study also showed that the respondents experienced repetitive hand movements, and inflammation and irritation. With these analyses, it was revealed that there was a significant relationship between the demographic profile of the respondents and the level of awareness and frequency of the factors affecting the trigger fingers. These results suggested that an emphasis should be put on the prevention of the onset of the trigger fingers; therefore, preventive programs should be formulated and stakeholders should focus on taking preventive and proactive measures regarding the said condition.
