520 _a This study intends to develop new operational strategies that will allow barbershop activities to continue while also overcoming and responding to the pandemic's challenges. The theories of crisis management, strategic adaptation, and survival theory are all interconnected and focus on the recovery of a business from disruptions and the ability to adapt new strategies to help the business continue to operate. The data is gathered through an in-depth online interview with an informant who meets the criteria for the interview, which includes the barbershop owner. The following were the four themes that emerged from the data analysis of the interviews: (a) Challenges encountered by barbershops and other related businesses at the time of the pandemic; (b) operational strategies used by businesses in the new normal; (c) effects of adapted operational strategies used by the businesses; (d) business continuity plan. Thematic analysis was used in the data analysis since it was appropriate for the qualitative study and allowed for a concise interpretation of the information provided by the informants. The interviewees' skills and knowledge may be able to assist barbershop owners in coming up with a plan to manage the consequences of the pandemic and, in turn, develop new operational strategies. The findings of the study could help all barbershop businesses prepare for the future by developing a business continuity plan.
