| 520 | _aThis study focuses on increasing awareness about cyberbullying and to create an intervention plan thru the most number of cyberbullying cases in social media which is Facebook to disseminate information about this growing problem. Tackling cyberbullying will be an ongoing process as technology continues to develop. It aims to determine the demographic profile of the responders, the social media terms of cyberbullying, the common coping mechanics of the respondent does when there are being bullied online in social media platforms, and the opinion why do people cyber bullied others. It further sought to find out policing internet oppressors of cyberbullying in social media platforms. The search method used in the study was purposive and the snowball sampling method with ten respondents. The researchers used interview questions. It includes data collection and analysis grounded in observation, interview and document review. The researcher found out that more than young adult (22-26 years old) experienced cyberbullying on Facebook than any other platforms. Males and LGBTQ members are much more likely to be the victims of cyberbullying than females. The common coping mechanisms of the respondents are self help; victim of cyberbullying try new ways of thinking or behaving, to cause positive life changes. The researchers find out that most of the reason why people cyberbullied others is for entertainment purposes, for power and control, and to insult their victims online the way that can embarrass or humiliate others. | ||
