520 _aThe research was undertaken to assess the relationship of principal empowerment to the effectiveness of selected public clementary schools in Parañaque City. Specifically, it answered the following sub-problems; 1. What is the personal and demographic profile of the public elementary school principals in Parañaque City in terms of: 1.1 age; 1.2 gender; 1.3 civil status; 1.4 years of experience as principal; and 1.5 educational attainment? 2. What are the level of empowerment practices of the public elementary school principals as perceived by the respondents as 10: 2.1 instruction; 2.2 administrative; and, 2.3 fiscal matters? 3. What is the extent of effectiveness in schools managed by empowered principals as perceived by the respondents, in terms of: 3.1 highly motivated learners; 3.2 competent and committed teachers 3.3 capable and effective managers; and, 3.4 adequate and orderly physical environment? The researcher utilized the descriptive method of research. A total of 18 principals and 221 teachers participated in the study. Data were gathered through a questionnaire-checklist. Scoring was made based on the responses of the respondents to the 5-point scale tools. Treatment of the data was done through the use of simple descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage and weighted mean.
