520 _aThis study aimed to determine the relationship between the intellective and non-intellective factors on the test performance of freshmen students in Olivarez College, during the school year 2001-2002, Specifically, it answered the following subproblems: 1. What is the profile of the freshmen students in terms of: 1.1 verbal reasoning ability scores; 1.2 abstract reasoning ability scores; 1.3 fourth year high school marks in Math, English, and Science; 1.4 educational attainment of both parents; and, 1.5 occupation of both parents? 2. What relationship exists between each of the following variables: 2.1 verbal reasoning ability scores and mean high school marks in Math, English, and Science; 2.2 abstract reasoning ability scores and mean high school marks in Math, English, and Science; 2.3 educational attainment of parents, and 2.3.1 verbal reasoning ability scores; 2.3.2 abstract reasoning ability scores. 2.4 occupation of parents and 2.4.1 verbal reasoning ability scores, and 2.4.2 abstract reasoning ability scores? 3. What are the implications of the findings of the study to the administrators, guidance director/counselors, high school students, and faculty? 4. What reform may be forwarded to the college by the researcher on the basis of the findings of the study.
