The purpose of determining the relationship between these two variables is very important in helping the teenage mother to become fully aware of her roles and responsibilities in child-rearing and helping her to be competent enough to perform the maternal responsibility to her child. This will also establish a bond with her child that could possibly lead to a more satisfying and more meaningful relationship not only as a mother to her child, but also as a wife, daughter, friend and whatever personal relationship she has with the people that surround her. Specifically, this study answers the following questions: 1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in term of age? 2. What is the level of awareness of teenage mothers in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City? 3. What is the level of maternal role performance of teenage mothers in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City? 4. What is the relationship of maternal awareness in maternal role performance among teenage mothers in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City? Based on the results of the data gathered, it is observed that maternal role awareness in San Dionisio is high while it has been revealed that there is a very strong level of matern.' role performance in San Dionisio. The relationship of maternal role- awareness and maternal role-performance in Barangay San Dionisio, based on the scale of Pearson r revealed a result of positive high correlation. The researchers conclude that maternal role-awareness is totally dependent on maternal role-performance in this locality. The researchers recommended a more intensive research study by further enhancing and improving the sets of questionnaires as a tool in measuring the level of maternal role-awareness to performance. The researchers also recommended more health teaching and a workshop on the part of health personnel to disseminate information regarding the maternal role performance. The communities must also work together to encourage teenage mothers who has a child for the first time that has no experience on taking care of a baby.
