520 _aA mixed-weight relationship entails a couple with one plus size and the other one is not. This research examined the reasons as to why individuals with different body features are attracted to each other and how they develop a romantic relationship, to discover how body sizes affect the relationship of people with different body sizes as compared to those with the same body size, to investigate the existence of relationships affected with body sizes and its effects to the people involved. To uncover this, the researchers find out how do informants describe their life together as a couple; what themes emerged from the described perceptions of the researchers; and what reflections can be drawn from the transcribed themes through the methods of key informant interview, in-depth interview, and focus group discussion. As a result, the researchers found out that the body type has nothing to do with the failure or success of a relationship. Genuine love goes beyond appearance. It is a choice that is based on a deep knowledge of a person including his or her shortcomings and the willingness to do the best for the individual. Genuine love is based on the understanding that the worth of an individual is more than physical appearance. Beauty is a good thing, but it can never replace a character.
