Dissertation note: Master Thesis Summary: This study evaluated the implementation of the guidance program in four secondary public schools in the Division of Pasay during the school year 2002-2003. Specifically, it sought answers to the following questions: 1. What is the profile of the participants in terms of: 1.1 position; 1.2 highest educational attainment; and, 1.3 years of experience in the present position? 2. How did the guidance counselors, classroom teachers and school administrators evaluate the guidance program as to: 2.1 characteristics of the guidance program; 2.2 school guidance practices; and, 2.3 guidance services ? 3. Is there a significant difference in the evaluation of the principals, classroom teachers and guidance counselors as to the characteristics of the guidance program, school guidance practices and guidance services? 4. Is there a significant relationship between the profile of participants as to present position, highest educational attainment, and years of experience in the position and the variables of characteristics of the guidance program, school guidance practices and guidance services? 5. What were the problems met in the implementation of the guidance program? The descriptive method of research was employed in the study. The simple random sampling selected the 268 teacher participants and the purposive sampling chose the 4 principals and the 11 counselors. Data were gathered through the profile of the participants and a research-made and validated questionnaire that evaluated the organization and administration of the guidance program, the extent of guidance services rendered and the problems met in the implementation of the guidance program. Scoring was made based on the responses of the participants to those 5-point scale tools. Data treatment was done through simple descriptive statistics such as frequency count, percentage and weighted mean. Chi-square and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used in proving the study's hypotheses.
