Undergraduate thesis.

This study explores the relationship between specific competencies of accountancy graduates and their job performance, focusing on alumni from Olivarez College. With increasing demands on accounting professionals for both technical expertise and adaptability, this research aims to identify which competencies significantly impact job performance. The results will inform a proposed Accountancy Enhancement Program to improve future graduates skills. The study utilized a descriptive-correlational design, gathering data from Olivarez College alumni via structured questionnaires. Key competencies assessed include Financial Problem Solving, Adaptability to Business Tools, Career Professional Advancement, and Ethics and Communication, each evaluated in terms of declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge, and motivation. Spearman Rank Correlation was used to determine the strength and significance of these competencies relationships to job performance. Results revealed significant correlations, particularly between procedural knowledge in Financial Problem Solving, all dimensions of Adaptability to Business Tools, and Ethics and Communication, and job performance. These findings formed the basis of the proposed Accountancy Enhancement Program, which focuses on these core competencies. Additional optional modules address weaker areas for further skill enhancement based on individual interests. This study provides a valuable framework for accountancy education, aligning curriculum design with industry demands and equipping graduates with essential competencies for professional success. The Accountancy Enhancement Program services as a practical tool for academic institutions and alumni, bridging the gap between education and job market expectations.
