Master Thesis

This study endeavored to examine the two-dimensional attributes associated with MTAP performance identified as in need of results improvement program. This study utilized quantitative descriptive correlational method using survey checklist among one hundred thirty-two (132) MTAP coaches and three hundred ninety-six (396) MTAP participants from twenty-two (22) public elementary schools in the City Schools Division of Las Piñas for School Year 2019-2020. The data gathered were treated using frequency, percentage, mean, median, normality test, Kruskal-Wallis h test and Spearman rank order correlation. MTAP performance showed that none from the participants in the Division Elimination of 2020 Metrobank-MTAP-DepED Math Challenge got a score of 50% and higher. It showed that there is a statistically significant difference in MTAP performance across the four districts and all grade levels. Parents' educational background revealed a statistically significant weak positive relationship with the MTAP performance. On the other hand, coaches' educational background and number of relevant trainings showed significant weak positive relationship with the MTAP performance. Hereafter, coaches need to be provided with short-term review course in order to develop their teaching competence; participants as well, to improve their mathematical skills and ability. By that, MTAP participation and performance among participants be enhanced.
