Dissertation note: Master Thesis Summary: The purpose of this study was to determine the level of parents' involvement in the educational development of pupils in public elementary schools of Puerto Princesa City, District III, School Year 2001-2002. Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions: 1. What is the profile of the parent-respondents in terms of: a. age; b. educational attainment; c. employment status; and d. monthly income? 2. How do parents perceive educational climate in terms of: a. Partnership; b. role expectation; and c. level of participation in the school activities? 3. Is there a significant difference between the perceived role and level of participation in the school activities by educational attainment and employment status of the parent- respondents? 4. What are the implications of this study in relation to school management? Methodology The respondents of this study were composed of 345 parents of elementary pupils from thirty (30) elementary schools in District III of the Division of Puerto Princesa City, one hundred fifty (150) of whom were males and one hundred ninety five (195) were females.
