Master Thesis
The study is intended to analyze the extent of ICT integration among the teachers of General Licerio Topacio National High School in the City of Imus, Cavite. The output of the study aims to provide the administration with the perspective; ability to evaluate, measure and improve teachers' performance through relevant and systemized information for decision making. To capture data, produce information and achieve its purposes, the researcher utilized the quantitative descriptive method through a self-assessment survey disseminated to 60 teachers in selected subject areas such as Mathematics, Science and English. Results showed that majority of the respondents are classified as female, all are currently teaching junior high school from grade 7 to grade 10, have been teaching for at least I to 16 years, and an equal number of respondents are teaching Mathematics, Science and English. The extent of ICT Integration among teachers has been within the spectrum of High to Moderate Extent with greater emphasis on Content Domain as it is inferred that teachers are knowledgeable of the subject area they are currently teaching. An area to be looked upon, however, is the technological domain of teachers as it garnered the lowest average mean score from the ICT Integration Domain. This reflects that teachers need more understanding on using and thinking about technology, resources, and tools. It also has been inferred that the ICT Integration differs across and between subject areas. Teachers that are currently handling English and Mathematics are integrating technology more than Science Teachers in which the output of the study will focus more. Consequently, there is a Large Extent of ICT Integration Practices applied in teaching. Through this, a school technology-enhancement plan (STEP) is provided to General Licerio Topacio National High School to strategically place the level of ICT Integration to a High Extent which will help the teachers in maximizing their potentials in using technology during the teaching learning process. This study contributes to the school improvement through the implementation of School Technology-Enhancement Plan (STEP) as part of school improvement plan.
