Master Thesis
The present study experimentally evaluated the effectiveness of teacher-made learning activity sheets (LAS) in enhancing the academic performance of grade 10 learners in high school adopted during the MDL educational system in selected public schools in the City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, as the basis for crafting an improved material in Technology and Livelihood Education. Grade 10 learners were chosen as participants (N=350) who were randomly assigned to take the pre-test. Participants were also given sets of LAS after the pre-test to use as learning materials in the absence of face-to-face actual teaching. They were given time to complete all the activities provided in the LAS at their own phase. After the dissemination of the LAS, they were given a post-test to determine the effectiveness of the LAS in the new normal system of education in MDL. The result of this research showed that the adaptation of LAS in TLE teaching was effective. The pretest and post-test result reveals a learning gain score, while the survey and written questionnaire justify its effectiveness. It is designed to update teachers' knowledge and improve their potential for crafting learning material that can be utilized in the absence of modules in Technology and Livelihood Education. It winds up that based on the results of the level of learning activity sheet utilization in Technology and Livelihood Education as a substitute for teaching in the new normal learning environment, it was found that all indicators in all parts of the LAS are utilized. The effectiveness in students' academic performance before the pre-test and after the post-test of teachers- made LAS adoption in public schools in teaching Technology and Livelihood Education in the new normal learning environment was found effective. However, it is recommended that the teachers be the benefactors of the educational learning materials for their teaching should be knowledgeable and creative on how to craft a good learning activity sheet that is suitable in the new normal setting of the educational system. The school head, as the administrator of the school, should encourage teachers to create more effective and efficient LAS for the learners that will help improve their academic performance.
