Master Thesis
Research has been an imperative task for every teacher in the public schools as per provision stated and continuously reiterated in the DepEd order. This study endeavored to determine the research engagement of public school teachers in the District of Tagaytay City towards an end-view of designing sustainable framework. The study utilized quantitative descriptive correlation method using a survey questionnaire among 322 public school teachers in the District of Tagaytay City, of which 163 were from the elementary while 159 from secondary levels, respectively using frequency and percentage mean, Levene's Test for Equality of Variance, One-way Analysis of Variance and Pearson r for statistical treatment of the data. It showed that research engagement of teachers in the said district is relatively low, so as with their competence despite they have positive outlook in it. Hence, it appeared to have significant relationship among the engagement, attitude towards research and competence of both elementary and secondary teachers. Time, funding and interest and motivation remain as constraints to research engagement. Thus, the output of this study would further sustain the research culture as one of the thrusts of DepEd.
