Dissertation note: Master Thesis Summary: This study endeavored to determine the relationship among the emerging 21st century skills, demographic profile and aptitude of senior high school Technical Vocational Livelihood-Cookery students as basis for proposed simulation activities. The quantitative descriptive correlational method of research was utilized using a survey questionnaire supplemented by documentary analysis among one hundred forty (140) grade 11 High School Technical Vocational Livelihood-Cookery students from Olivarez College Dr. Pablo R. Olivarez Senior High School (Independent (Vouchered) Senior High School) Findings showed that majority of the students belonged to lowest stream of society in terms of socio-economic status with grade equivalent to Approaching Proficiency. Students prefer TVL-Cookery Strand as they find it a way for immediate employment opportunity, an in-demand professional field and accessible and available course. They also make it as a personal choice as they intend to take HRM course in college. The Tech-Voc Cookery students demonstrate impressive skill in communication and collaboration but lesser in critical thinking and creativity. The latter obtain average rate in General Scholastic Aptitude and Academic Track, while low average in the Technical-Vocational Aptitude. Hence, they desire to pursue their career relevant to their current track/strand. There is a significant relationship among academic performance, aptitude, factors and reasons for choosing TVL Cookery and their socio-economic status. However, there is no established significant relationship between the latter's aptitude and socio-economic status. In terms of their 21st century skills, these have significant relationship with their socio-economic status, especially along communication, collaboration and critical thinking. However, no significant relationship with their creativity. As such, there is a significant relationship between their academic profile and their 21st century skills along all components. Reciprocally, these relate with their aptitude along general scholastic, technical vocational, and academic tracks. In this regard, samples of 21st century skill-based simulation activities were crafted for this purpose.
