Dissertation note: Master Thesis Summary: The study focused on the development and validation of a proposed worktext in Mathematics 5 along with the objectives, content, adaptability, relevance, organization and presentation. The content of the worktext was subjected to the scrutiny of competent Math teachers and pool of validators. The study identified that there was a dearth in the availability and adequacy of instructional materials in Mathematics; hence, a need to develop a worktext in the said discipline is imperative. The following research questions were answered: 1. What are the concepts and competencies covered in the proposed material for Mathematics 57 2. What IM model was designed intended for the proposed material? 3. How valid was the material in terms of: 3.1. objectives 3.2. content; 3.3. adaptability, 3.4. relevance 3.5. organization; and 3.6. presentation? 4. Based on the results of the study, what worktext can be developed? Methodology The researcher used descriptive research design which focused on material development applying the process and procedures intended thereto which were taken or culled from reviewed literature and sources.
